Community transport - keeping North Northamptonshire connected
SHIRECONNECT provides friendly, accessible community transport for people in Wellingborough and other towns and villages in North Northamptonshire. From dial-a-ride journeys to the shops and medical appointments to school transport, excursions and Shopmobility, we help you travel with confidence and independence. Membership is required to use some of our services.

Dial-a-ride service
Our dial-a-ride accessible minibus service offers convenient local travel for members who may find ordinary public transport difficult to use. Travel to appointments, activities, shops and more with helpful support from our community transport team.
Our door-to-door service operates in Wellingborough and surrounding villages and Rushden and Higham Ferrers.
Our stop-to-stop service operates in the very North of the county, from Corby, Thrapston and Oundle to Rushden Lakes and all the villages in between and up to the county border.
Wellbeing car service
Get to healthcare appointments with reliable transport from SHIRECONNECT. Staffed by volunteers using their own vehicles, our car service helps members travel to medical appointments, including visiting, with greater reassurance, helping you focus on what matters most.
Some of our volunteers are willing to make quite long journeys so even if your appointment is in Oxford, Cambridge, London or Birmingham, get in touch to see if we can help you.
Our car service covers the whole of North Northamptonshire.
Excursions and school transport
We provide enjoyable excursions for members and community groups as well as travel-to-school transport.

Shopmobility
Shopmobility helps people with limited mobility access local shopping and leisure destinations more easily.
SHIRECONNECT can support a more independent, comfortable visit to Wellingborough town centre by hiring you a wheelchair, mobility scooter or other mobility aids.
